Crossing you will come upon a hill and a tower of stone to the
left that is located in a deep nature preserve dedicated to wild
flowers. Bowman's Hill at 380 feet above sea level is topped
by a 125 foot high stone tower built in 1933 to honor the
Colonial soldiers who used the hill as an observation post.
From the hill the Colonial soldiers could watch for the
movement of British troops during the preparation for
Washington's crossing of the Delaware.
