On the East Coast of the US,  Cape Cod  offers bike trails built on the
old railroad  right of ways.  These flat, paved bike trails are great for safe
family biking, hiking, or wheelchair and baby carriage access.
The Coastal Villages Trail follows the coast along Rhode Island sound through New England Fishing
Villages that once were noted for sea Captains during the age of sail.  Follow country roads from Newport
Rhode Island to Little Compton RI, and then to the Village of New Bedford and its whaling museum.

A  History Vacation  can follow the path of George Washington as he crossed the Delaware River in
Pennsylvania.  
Later in the Revolutionary War the Battle of Yorktown is commemorated at the site in Yorktown, Virginia.
