Tall Ships Returned to Boston, Photos by Nancy Santry
Boston Tall Ships
2009
Tall ships numbering 50
visited Boston Harbor in
July. The same week, the
Esplanade concert and
fireworks on the Charles
River took place, a few days
before the ships arrived. .
Boston is a great place to
visit for travelers.
Boston offers some great
activities for vacationers
Landmarks that should not
be missed for the history
lover include the Freedom
Trail, a walking trail that
links the Paul Revere
House, the Boston
Massacre site, Old North
Church, Faneuil Hall/
Quincy Market, the Old
Statehouse, the Bunker Hill
Monument, and Old
Ironsides, the oldest
commissioned warship and
one that fought in the war of
1812.
Boston has long been
famous for its artists and art
museums including the
Museum of Fine Arts, the
Isabella Stewart Gardner
Museum, and Harvard's
Fogg and Bush Reisinger.
The latest entry, a new art
museum right on the harbor,
the museum of
Contemporary Art. Long a
small collection tucked into
a tiny building near the
Prudential Center, the new
modern building houses
and expanded collection in
a setting with a water view.
A walking path along the
harbor leads from
downtown to the new
building.
