Hosteria Alcala: A long time favorite restaurant with visitors from the US, European tourists and vacationing locals, the Hosteria Alcala serves Oaxacan cuisine and includes some touches of French and Northern Italian with flambe' desserts to make the experience memorable. This Oaxacan restaurant has an elegant setting on a pedestrian only street that adds to the ambiance. Surprisingly reasonable, two should be able to dine for under $40 USD.
El Sagario: Dine first and then go downstairs to dance the Salsa or local favorite the Cumbia. El Sagerio serves Oaxacan dishes on its first and second floor dining rooms and at about ten in the evening the dancing starts to live bands in the basement night club. Also serves fried chicken, macaroni salad, dessert for about 50 Pesos.  $5 USD.  Food adequate service unpredictable
La Catedral: Upscale ambiance and great cuisine at good prices in an elegant setting, La Catedral also offers a downstairs night club for after-dinner dancing to Latin beats. (Cumbia)
Como Agua Para Chocolate: Flambe spectacles at your table, Como Agua Para Chocolate (Like Water For Chocolate) will entertain and deliver a spectacle that will have you ducking for cover or snapping photos as they slather Brandy on your steaks and put a torch to them inches from your eyes.
Closed for now.
