Trails lead out of the villages along narrow cobbled streets rimmed by beds of hollyhock and lavender. You walk past textured doorways, lace curtained windows, and through tiny portals on a cobble lane that twists down the hill to networks of trails beneath the walls of the villages and into the olive groves in the Alpilles Hills near Eygalieres for the long hike over the Alpilles to the villages of St. Remy and Les Baux.

Country Road to Eygalieres
The walking trail GR 6 comes north from Salon de Provence and passes near Eygalieres on its way through the Alpilles to St Remy and Les Baux. From there the trail goes to Tarascon
Near Les Baux follow the path of the Roman aqueduct that carried water from the east to Arles
