Plymouth MA, Bike, Hike, and Beach
Rangers and volunteers conduct interpretive programs through the park and its cranberry bogs and kettle hole
ponds.
Camping is available at five locations: Barretts Pond, Curlew Pond, Fearing Pond (two locations) and
Charge Pond.
College Pond has a day use area with a swimming beach with lifeguards. Boating and fishing are available
on college pond and several others including the campground ponds.
There are also 35 miles of equestrian trails in the park and an area at Charge Pond reserved for equestrian
camping.

Myles Standish State Forest is five miles inland from
Plymouth Harbor and reachable off Route 44 or Route 3.
The Reservation's 14.651 acres make it the largest forested
recreation area in the southeastern part of the State.
Paved roads connect the parks 16 ponds. Within the park
there are 15 miles of bicycle trails and 13 miles of
hiking trails.

This is a long spit of land that juts out into the bay with more than 3 miles of sandy beach facing the open ocean.
The beach area most accessible is just after the road to Plimoth Plantation about three miles south of Plymouth
center on Route 3-A
Fee parking is available. The are Lifeguards, food concessions and bathhouse at Plymouth Beach.

White Horse Beach

Taylor Avenue, Manomet. Only South Beach is public. No lifeguards.
Scusset Beach Scusset beach is south of Plymouth Center but near enough (15 miles) for a day trip.
Bike trails for 14 miles along the canal. Open to walking, roller blading, carriage, and wheelchair, dog walking.
Paved trails are on both sides of the cape Cod Canal. Both bridges across the Cape Cod Canal have
walkways to the opposite shore
Other hiking trails are available within the park. Go south from Plymouth on Route 3-A or 3 to the Cape Cod
Canal in Bourne, MA

Take Scusset Beach Road east of the Sagamore Bridge on the north side of the Cape Cod Canal.
Scusset has a large parking lot with day use fee and a large RV/ Tent campground A broad sand beach with
snack bar, restrooms, picnic tables. Open for camping and fishing. Daily parking available for fee.
Striper fishing is a popular summer activity at the jetty. Mornings on the incoming tide are favored by local anglers.
Plymouth is still a small town and can easily be walked in a day. Free parking is provided at several lots along
the harbor. towards the boat ramp. The ramp area parking is for boats with trailers but 200 yards to the north
there is free parking. Other lots provide paid parking.
You will need a vehicle to reach the Plimoth Plantation, about three miles outside the harbor along the coast to
the south.
Plymouth & Brockton shuttle runs service between the harbor and the Plimoth Plantation.
Train and bus service reaches Plymouth from Logan Airport.
