Oaxaca is a festive city year round but several seasonal holidays spice up the action.  One of the busiest times is Christmas Week, another, Easter Week.   
Another busy time is the regional parades and dance performances that take place during
Guelaguetza in July.  
The most intriguing ceremony and perhaps the most important to the indigenous population is the
Day of the Dead in October/November, this is the annual cemetery visit and candlelit vigil at graveside.
