To reach Oaxaca's airport (OAX) you can hail any cab in the city or arrange
beforehand for a pickup.  They will come to your hotel or apartment early in the
AM.  They are reliable for an early pickup.
The hotels will arrange a pickup for you if you choose.  You can also contact a
tourist agency to book a cab to the airport or hire a private car, VIP, through a
tourist agency
Rental cars are available at the airport or in the city

Many ATMs are available that dispense the peso at a fair rate of exchange. You
can find a swipe type at Banamex , one block east of the northeast corner of the
Zocalo, corner of Hidalgo and Lopez

Collective Taxi, Van:
Oaxaca's small but modern airport ( OAX) has collective taxis that meet the
incoming flights and make trips to the city.  These are vans serving as shared
taxis  that provide an inexpensive ride into the city. They will drop you wherever
you want to go.
You will receive a six months visa on the airliner, paid for through your ticket
price.  You will need picture ID, or birth certificate to enter Mexico.
You will need a passport to enter the United States.
