Entering from Route 191, the road
south from Vernal and Green
River,  you find
parachute rides
and sightseeing at
Canyonlands
Airport
.  You soon come to the
entrance to
Arches National
Park
just before downtown Moab.
Arches National Park offers
camping and
many great hikes
both easy and strenuous.
For hiking in this area,  Tent and RV camping are available on BLM's Potash road for $8 per night, $4.00
with Golden Age Pass. Dump stations are available in town at private parks and at  RV service centers
where a twenty four hour self-pay station is $5.

The
Williams Bottom sites are a mix of small and large sites, some pull thru  with cottonwoods for shade.
Drive through the campground, pick an unoccupied site, pay at the kiosk, and clip your receipt to the post.
Also on the Potash Road, the Gold Bar site with large sites on the Colorado River.
Private campgrounds are nearby in the town of Moab. .
Many wild animals inhabit Arches National Park, common sights being the coyote, the mule deer,
and in certain sections of the park, the
Big Horn Sheep. Sheep were reintroduced to Arches
National Park and now number 100 animals.
Good roads through Arches National Park and many viewpoints make it a great place to drive through,
particularly at sunrise or sunset.
A great
day-hike is Delicate Arch. 3-4 hours  This is a good sunrise hike for making photos.

The Gold Bar Camp Ground and RV Park on the Colorado
River might be deserted during an August weekday.  If you
tent or RV in this area, a good half-day hike from the
campground is
Corona Arch from the trail head across
the road from the Gold Bar Campground.  
The hike to
Corona Arch is a gentle hike with a round trip
time of about thee hours.  Two arches are side by side,
Bowtie Arch, an arch in the stages of forming and Corona
Arch,
a free standing arch that you can walk under. (Left)

A hike from this point in Arches NP takes you through the Courthouse Wash beneath the
distant spires for a short hike.  Two miles round trip.

Moab and makes an inspiring hike.

The Courthouse Wash Hike in Arches National Park is a short quarter day hike on a mild slope
beside the towering red rocks called the Courthouse.  Though gentle enough in steepness, any hike in
Moab will require ample water and protection from the sun.  Two mile round trip
