on Upper Cape Cod at campsites both State and private. One
of the best is Shawme-Crowell State Forest in Sandwich Upper
Cape Cod.
Shawme Crowell State Forest offers bike trails within the park and many
others in the area, especially along the nearby Cape Cod Canal.
Shawme Crowell has a good location at the beginning of Cape Cod at
Sandwich the museum town: lots of history, nature preserves, and
exquisite antique buildings, including the Hoxie House, the oldest house
on Cape Cod.
The RV and Tent park Shawme Crowell accommodates tenters and RV
campers with a dump station and water. (Recycling station)

The canal can provide some good striper fishing from the jetty and the banks and in salt water there is no
need for a license although you do need to observe length limits and bag limits.

The flat paved trail runs seven miles on one side of the canal and six and a half on the other. You can
walk your bike over the Sagamore and Bourne bridges to bike both sides of the canal in one day, a
