Bus from Mexico City To Zihuatanejo is offered by First
Class Estrella de Oro Bus Line from Mexico City to
Zihuatanejo. This is an 8 hour bus route through high
elevation areas where the night temperatures drop and
the buses can be cold.
Estrella Blanca Bus to Zihuatanejo
Long distance first class buses run along coast road Route 200 from Acapulco to the city of Lazaro Cardenas.
Zihuatanejo is mid way, four hours south of Lazaro Cardenas.
Estrella Blanca Bus to Zihuatanejo from Mexico City will go through Acapulco in a 5 hour trip. From Acapulco,
continue on to Zihuatanejo.
Estrella Blanca serves Zihuatanejo from Puerto Escondido through Acapulco and from Morelia and Mexico City.
From the north, buses serve from Mazatlan, to Guadalajara and Uruapan and then to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, or from
the city of Lazaro Cardenas where four bus terminals serve many directions.
From the south, Estrella Blanca buses (could be Futura Bus) from Puerto Escondido, reach Acapulco and then
Zihuatanejo. Bus lines serve Zihuatanejo from Mexico City. through Morelia and Uruapan. Service is frequent
out of Guadalajara and Morelia.
- Bus Service From Zihuatanejo to Mexico City
Bus service from Zihuatanejo to Mexico City could include a Parhikuni Bus
inland to Uruapan for 315 pesos. Buses leave Uruapan for Patzcuaro every fifteen
minutes for a cost of 48 pesos.
From Patzcuaro in the high elevation area where the night temperatures can be
cold, the local bus serves to Morelia with departures every fifteen minutes.
From Patzcuaro’s Central de Autobuses, several bus lines serve to Morelia,
including the local bus every 15 minutes. Elite, Pariso, and Autovias among others
serve Morelia.
From Moralia many bus lines serve to Mexico City, Guadalajara, and many other
destination north and south.
From Moralia and Guadalajara Futura Buses (Estrella Blanca) Elite Primera Plus
(Flecha Amarilla) Omnibus serves north to the US border, Primera Plus serves as
far north as Mazatlan.
ETN covers a good portion of central and Northern Mexico as far as the US border.
Parhikuni Buses cover Michoacan to Uruapan and Autovias covers west central
Mexico to Guadalajara and Mexico City.
Several bus terminals in Guadalajara, north and west of Morelia, offer the same and
more in the way of bus travel options.
The Autovias bus between Guadalajara and Moralia arrives at the Central de
Autobus Nuevo (New Bus Station) in Guadalajara after the four hour trip. In
Guadalajara many bus service options exist.
Autovias serves Patzcuaro to Mexico City Poniente, Observatorio and Norte
terminals

Always dress warmly on a bus trip in Mexico. The air conditioned buses
are cold and regardless of the season, the mountain cities and villages
can be cold at night.
Mexico City to Zihuatanejo
Estrella de Oro Bus Line offers three levels of bus service from Mexico City to
Zihuatanejo.
The night buses are rated by users as most convenient but some users recommend day
buses because of security concerns. The bus route takes about 8 hours and bus fares
start at 370 peso and run to 500 pesos.
Buses leave from Mexico City Taxquena. Bus Station, also called Terminal de
Autobuses del Sur.
The late night bus is a good option because it will arrive around 7 AM in Zihuatanejo.
For some, the early morning bus might be the best option for its level of security.
The Central Sur (Taxquena) Station serves Chiapas, Morelos, Guerrero State,
(Zihuatanejo) Puebla, Oaxaca, Tabasco, Veracruz.
The bus lines that operate from this station include Estrella de Oro, Pullman de
Morelos, OCC, Ejecutivo Turistar, ADO, Futura, Flecha Roja, and others
