Nickerson State Park, Brewster, MA, Cape Cod  Camping  
Sunsets at Skaket beach and Namskaket Sea Path can be quite the event as the sun lights the sand
flats of Cape Cod Bay.  

Nickerson State Park offers a convenient vantage point to enjoy the natural wonders of Cape Cod, located
as it is about half way from the tip of the Cape at Provincetown, and half way to the beginning of cape Cod at
Sandwich.

The park accommodates tent and RV camping  with a dump station and water. No Hookups. Many
miles of
bike and walking trails
are within the park which has three large ponds and five small ponds with the
campsites situated near the shores. The trails include a
bridal path
Bike Riding on Cape Cod's
Rail Trail is high on many
visitors list because the Rail
Trail goes right through
Nickerson State Park as it
runs for 25 miles from
Dennis to Wellfleet.
Within a few miles of Nickerson State Park, Skaket Beach is open to the public with
a parking fee (15 USD in season, includes a pass to Nauset Beach)  and Rock
Harbor Beach (large vehicle Parking) is open free of charge; both are warm water
beaches. Further along on the Rail Trail or by a drive east on Route 6, the First
Encounter Beach is open with a parking fee for vehicles.

These three can be reached by bicycle from Nickerson SP  on the Rail Trail with
short stretches of on-road biking.
Another good option for beach
goers and for nature lovers as well
is the Salt Pond Visitors Center,
not far from Nickerson State Park
via route 6 towards Provincetown.

Parking is free (large rig parking
available) and you can walk or
bike the one and a half miles to
Coast Guard Beach, or bike all the
way from Nickerson State Park, a
distance of about eight miles on
the Rail trail. (one way,   RT 16
miles)
While some folks are biking,
others might want to take in
the antique galleries along
Route 6A,at the doorstep of
Nickerson S.P.  Drummer
Boy  Park and the Old
Higgins Farm Windmill are
sites for antique flee markets.
Others in the family might
want to fish from the jetties
along the harbor or from a
sport fishing charter out of
Rock Harbor,  Orleans. Half
day and full day trips go for
Striper, Blue, and Tuna.

available. The crew cleans the fish on the way in and bags up fillets for the anglers.(Free Parking, large
vehicle parking)
Near the Salt Pond
Visitors center on
the Rail Trail,  the
Lobster Shanty lets
you pick out your
own lobster for
cooking. They also
serve fish and chips
clams and scallops.
