Fourteen miles south of Boston in Hingham at Shipyard Drive on Route 3 A, Eastern Mountain Sports,
EMS, runs a shop with Kayak rentals and sales.
Kayak lesson and rentals are offered to all skill levels. After a short drive further south on Route 3 A,
kayakers can take to the waters of Hingham Harbor with views of the distant Boston skyline.
Hingham Harbor is safe for beginners because it is enclosed by islands and by the peninsula of the Worlds
End Reservation. There are three small islands in Hingham Harbor for visits.

For those with their own transportation and kayak, the put-in is a free boat launch at Hingham Harbor and free
parking.
The lot fills quickly on weekends. This is a safe harbor for those new to ocean Kayaking. A long, protected
bay from Hull Gut includes seven islands, several with camping facilities.
