How to reach Deer Isle on the Maine Coast:  Go North from Boston on the high speed highways the
Maine Turnpike.  Boston to Portland Maine is 110 miles north.  From Portland follow Route One to
Bucksport
and then  south to Deer Isle.  270 miles from Boston,  5 1/2 to 6 hours
