Cape Cod Historic Places, Travel,
Plymouth Pilgrim's Museums
If you have bicycles you can bring them aboard for a boat cruise across Cape
Cod Bay
and a bicycle ride through Provincetown’s quirky art colony. From the
former fishing village of Provincetown you can ride to the paved trails through the
National Seashore’s Provincelands dunes, the place where the Pilgrims of Miles
Standish and John Alden had first landed.
The colonists found no water on the peninsula of towering dunes so they sailed
across the bay to Plymouth. To get a good view of that bay climb the stairs of the
252-foot monument honoring the pilgrims where you can see all the way to
Plymouth and beyond.
All of this history is located in a tight circle which also encompasses several full-service RV parks and
includes four limited-service
State RV parks, one with an ocean beach and bicycle trail. (See below for
Parks with websites and email contact info.)

Return To Plymouth:
You could end your history vacation with a return to Plymouth where today the
antique colonial homes of the descendants of the Mayflower's passengers crowd
Plymouth's narrow streets within sight of the famous rock, the place where the
Longfellow legend states that
John Alden first stepped on Plymouth soil.
You might even find an ancestor among the first pilgrims.  If not, you
are sure to find great legends and poignant stories to keep your imaginations
full of the struggles, the triumphs, and the love stories of the first settlers. At
every turn you will learn that they suffered much just to find shelter.  You might
wonder just how amazed
John Alden and Priscilla Mullins might be if they
could see how we travel today.  They never had the luxury of traveling  just for
pleasure.
