Camargue Provence Camping in the South of France is a Unique
Lifestyle Of Caravaning among the Medieval cities of Provence and on
the beaches of the Mediterranean on the Rhone River Delta
In July and August caravans of
Europe head to the South of France
and camp in the Camargue along
the Mediterranean.
The horses of the Camargue are not completely wild
but they do roam free and breed in the wild. The
horsemen and women of the Camargue harvest them
regularly for saddle horses. They are gentle and they

a Celtic heritage with a north African

At the tip of the Rhone River Delta the land flattens and
becomes the sandy desert and grassland of the
Camargue. Caravans arrive during mid June for a long
summer visit in a vast camp out. The vacationers of
Europe take to the roads and set up summer quarters in
the wilds of the Camargue.
With huge tracts of flat land planted in rice the Camargue is a
ideal for the generation of electricity by wind.
The estuarine flats of the Camargue attract Flamingos and
dozens of other species. 400 birds species visit the Camargue

Do You need an International Driving Permit to drive in Europe.
In France and Italy you can rent a car and do not need to show an International Permit, only your drivers
license from your home country and perhaps your passport. Italian law requires that you carry an IDP as does
Spain, Portugal, Greece, and several of the former Soviet Union countries. The International driver's permit is
issued by the American Automobile Association AAA in the States and the CAA in Canada. The cost is $15
and not a bad bit of insurance against running into trouble while driving in Europe.
