To Reach Zipolite Beach, From The
Bus Station At Pochutla.

Plenty of cabs are available in Pochutla just
outside the bus station.
If you group with others you can split the fee
and save,  
The trip fee is the same regardless of the
number of  passengers.

Another option is the collective cab called
camionetta (explained), a pickup truck with a
covered rear bed that makes frequent stops
and charges a small fee per passenger.
ADO Buses serve South of Mexico City as part of a large
bus system with many First Class Buses that run to 13
States of Mexico in the south and to Tamaulipas, on the
US border  Northeast of Mexico City.
Oaxaca's Zipolite Beach
can be reached by Bus and
then taxi.

From Oaxaca City:
OCC buses from
the ADO
first class terminal reach  
Huatulco and then Pochutla.

Transportation to Zipolite
Reach Mazunte and Puerto Angel's beaches from Oaxaca on ADO (OCC
by first going to Huatulco and then north along the coast road Route 200.
In Pochutla get a taxi or camionetta which picks up and drops off passengers all
along Calle Principal, the road that runs parallel to the beach,
To Reach Zipolite Beach, From The Bus
Station At
Puerto Escondido.

Buses run along the coast road Route 200
between Puerto Escondido and Pochutla.
They cover the forty miles in about 90 minutes
or less.

On a local bus or collective taxi you can ask the
driver to let you off at the Zipolite/ Mazunte
crossroads and catch a collective camionetta
from there or you can stay on the bus until you
reach Pochutla.  

From Pochutla you take a taxi or
collectivo/camionetta (shared taxi) for the six
miles to Puerto Angel/Zipolite Beaches
ADO, First Class Bus Service reaches
Huatulco and then the route goes north to
Pochutla.  

The route then goes Northwest along the
coast to Puerto Escondido.
This will be an OCC Bus leaving from the
ADO first class station in Oaxaca.  
  • ADO First Class Bus
ADO Bus runs first class buses out of Mexico City Terminal Norte, and Tapo
Terminal
 to cover a good portion of southern Mexico to the Guatemala and Belize
borders   They also cover north to the US border in Tamaulipas State and east to the
State of Veracruz.  
Platino and GL service offers a higher level of service, more legroom, fewer seat, faster
trips.

  • OCC Bus  
OCC Bus is a division of ADO that covers Oaxaca to the Pacific Coast, Puerto
Escondido, Tapachula, and San Cristobal de las Casas.
At
Tapachula the Tica Bus uses the same terminal as the OCC buses.
Tica Bus runs service to central American cities as far south as Panama City

Cuenca  Bus serves from Oaxaca to Tuxtepec directly over the mountains through
Benito Juarez
ADO serves Puerto Escondido from Oaxaca city via OCC buses
In most cases you just show up to buy your ticket; the buses are never crowded
except during the Christmas and New Years holidays and Easter Vacation. Book
a day ahead for choice seats.

ADO Buses run regular service to Palenque where they have a small
first class station.
They reach Merida  (Sunday Bus Only)  where you make a connection for
Chichen Itza,
ADO runs buses to Veracruz,  San Cristobal de las Casas,
Tapachula in
Chiapas (OCC Buses)  and to Cancun.
ADO runs first Class bus service to Tapachula  and
San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas.
Buses stop in Ocosingo for the Ruin Site of Tonina and
go over the mountains to Palenque.
From there make connections to
Bonampak
Puerto Escondido is
served by OCC buses
that run from the ADO
terminal in Oaxaca City
to Huatulco, Pochutla
and then to Puerto
Escondido.
